Against the backdrop of global sustainable development, the importance of the recycled metals industry has grown. As the conflict between resource scarcity and rising demand intensifies, countries are increasing policy and technological investments in this sector to promote a green economy. Japan, as a key hub for recycled resources in Asia, boasts advanced technologies (such as aluminum dross processing) and closed-loop recycling models, with plans to expand electronic waste recycling. However, domestic capacity for recycled aluminum absorption remains limited, necessitating overseas market expansion, while recycled copper production capacity is also expanding. Meanwhile, U.S.-China trade tensions have underscored the need for stable supply chains. In this context, the 3rd Global Recycled Metals Industry Summit will be held in Osaka, Japan, on May 25-26, 2026. Under the theme "Voices of Low Carbon, Echoes of the Globe," the summit will bring together industry leaders, experts, and policymakers to explore industry trends, technologies, and policies, fostering international cooperation and resource circularity.
