A major breakthrough was recently achieved in the Phase IV of the "Industrialization Project of Ultra-Fine Copper Conductors for New Energy Vehicles and Robot Electronic Signal Communication" of Anhui Xinhai High Performance Copper New Materials Co., Ltd. — a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jiangsu Xinhai High Performance Copper New Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xinhai High Performance Copper "). Relying on in-depth insights into customer needs and continuous development of its own technology, the company, in collaboration with the world's top equipment manufacturer in the wire & cable industry - Maschinenfabrik Niehoff GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) and the well-known drawing die supplier Esteves China, underwent hundreds of process iterations. It successfully developed the world's first 16 x 0.042mm ultra-fine multi-wire drawn copper conductor from continuous casting and rolling of low oxygen copper rods. This process was completed on a NIEHOFF MMH 50 multi-wire drawing and annealing line, and it was officially confirmed by NIEHOFF. Furthermore, the company achieved stable trial production of 390,000 meters per spool with 6 consecutive hours of uninterrupted operation. This achievement breaks through the minimum designed finishing diameter of 0.05 mm.Based on NIEHOFF’s previous experience, a finishing diameter of 0.05 mm generally requires the use of Upcast Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) rods for continuous production. However, using continuous casting and rolling copper rods to produce 16 x 0.042 mm fills the technical gap in the application of NIEHOFF machines using continuous casting and rolling low oxygen copper-based ultra-fine conductors through a multi-wire drawing and continuous annealing process. This achievement demonstrates Xinhai's development philosophy of "centering on customer needs, continuously breaking through, and refining technical capabilities." It lays a solid foundation for core technological reserves to serve customers on a large scale in the future.
