LONDON, Mar. 18 -- The global refined nickel market was in a 15,500 metric ton surplus in January, the World Bureau of Metal Statistics said Wednesday.
The refined market was in a 17,000 ton surplus for all of 2009.
Global mined nickel production was 113,000 tons in January, 2% less than the same month of 2009.
Global nickel smelter production was 114,800 tons and consumption was 99,000 tons in January.
